Too Loud? Too Bad.

From face-melting solos to overused vocal effects and way too many bass swaps, these are the Hope City Rockers — plus one sound guy with the patience of a saint and the cable collection of a small nation.

This is the gang responsible for the noise, the sweat, the questionable jokes, and the suspicious smell.

Approach with caution. Or beer.

Suzy – vocals, lead cymbal, eye-rolls

Suzy’s the voice of the band—and occasionally the voice of reason. She nails everything from 70s swagger to 2000s bangers, with serious range and a knack for pulling the crowd in.

When the rest of us get a bit too silly (often), she’s the one shaking her head, telling the stories, and somehow keeping it all together—except when she’s on lead cymbal duty for Emerald.

Currently loving: Led Zep, AC/DC, Ozzy—and anything she can sing loud.

Den “Razor”- guitar, lead belly, backup dancer

Loud riffs and broken strings – Razor’s our resident showman, equal parts guitar hero and walking health warning.

He’ll melt faces with solos one minute and have his belly out the next. Somehow, he manages to hit every note while messing about, winding us up, and working the crowd like it owes him money.

Come for the playing, stay for the chaos.

Listening to lately: Classic metal, hard rock, and anything with a filthy guitar tone.

Gav – guitar, lead beard, backing yowl

Laid-back, low-maintenance, and bearded like a Norse god, Gav’s our quiet achiever. He plays with precision, sings with style, and thanks to his amp modeller, carries less gear than anyone else (which we definitely don’t resent).

Most of the time he’s all cool tones and smooth backing vocals—until Dirty Deeds, when he unleashes one gloriously unnecessary scream. Just the one. But it’s worth the wait.

Currently into: Big riffs, small setups, and moments of chaos.

Paddy – drums, chocks, snake

Third-best beard, first-class drummer. Paddy’s the thunder behind the kit—tight, powerful, and louder than strictly necessary.

He’s the only drummer we’ve got, and frankly we don’t need another. Always solid, always locked in… unless DuckTales starts, in which case all bets are off.

Paddy loves discussing his drum snake which, while practical, is also slightly unsettling.

Currently into: Mastodon, Rammstein, and anything that makes the stage tremble.

Al – bass, lead wireless, backing falsetto

Al’s the rumble behind the roar. He holds down the low end, sings a few tunes, and swaps basses like he’s trying to hit a personal best for longest set break.

He’s got the smallest beard in the band but the biggest love for shaking walls—and pushing his vocal processor way past “sensible.”

Solid, occasionally punctual, and forever fiddling with gear.

Currently obsessed with: Big tone, low frequencies, and whatever that button just did to his voice.

Graeme – sound, transport, patience (almost)

Graeme is the sixth Rocker—the one behind the desk, under the cables, and dangerously close to losing it every time we muck about during line check.

Armed with a posh wireless mixer, an even posher sound desk, and a Spotify playlist that you’d struggle to believe, he somehow makes us sound far better than we deserve.

Keep an eye out for his invisible bag of cables – it really is spooky!

Currently wrestling: XLRs, EQ curves, and our total inability to stay serious for 30 seconds.
